BFWO’s Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams (MHNT) project which has already been inaugurated in Kunduz Province in presence of the provincial Public Health Director and other government and non-government stakeholders, provide health and nutrition services for the most vulnerable and needy segment of this province. Each MHNT team is consist of a medical doctor as team leader, a nutrition nurse, a midwife, a nutrition counselor, psychosocial counselors, and social health community promotors.
This project is funded by UNICEF under which we provide lifesaving health and nutrition services for children and mothers, which includes OPD treatment of SAM, MAM, undernourished pregnant and lactating women (PLW). through health facilities (HF), refer of SAM cases with complications to the relevant HF; primary health care (PHC) services such as PHC consultation for children under 5 and childbirth age women, immunization for children, ANC and PNC for PLW; awareness and counseling services on infant and young child feeding (IYCF), optimal maternal and childcare practices; and mental health psychosocial services.
