About The Organization:

Bright Future & Welfare Organization (BFWO) is a Kabul based non-government (NGO), not-for-profit (NPO), independent, civil society organization (CSO) founded by a group of dedicated public health, curative medicine, education, and management experts. It is registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan under license number 5379, which follows the NGO and other applicable laws of the country, the approved Article of Association (AoA), and donors guidelines. BFWO is an Afghan NGO that operates in the health and education sectors to serve community health promotion, managing and responding to the emerging health crises, public health safety, literacy, and education across Afghanistan. The NGO also works for the development and relief of marginalized communities to achieve social and economic prosperity and improve humanitarian and social capital through delivering health & social, educational & livelihood services, especially to the vulnerable and marginalized societies and communities of Afghanistan.

Objective:

The main purpose of this role is to support the teams in entering the data into the database from the registers and share the report with the project officer for reporting and analyzing when required. The main activities for this project are:

Background/qualifications
  • Diploma/Bachelor`s in Pharmacy or related field from reputed institute.
  • At least 3 year experience on medicines, medical management required.
  • Pharmacist and/or stock management in a local or international organization
  • Good team interaction and positive attitude.
  • Familiar with word, excel, Skype/Teams and Internet/Email.
  • Fluent in Pashto, and Dari and basic understanding in English
  • Experience working with MHNTs and Health/Nutrition Programs is an asset.
Skills required
  • Fluency in English language both spoken and written.
  • Fluency in local language, Pashto and Dari (spoken & written).
  • Advanced Computer Skills (MS. Word, Ms. Excel, outlook).
  • Communication skills.
  • Reporting skills .
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with team members.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Pharmacy/warehouse officer will be responsible for the below listed tasks at provincial level:

  • Design storage layout for efficient inventory management.
  • Oversee warehouse storage setup.
  • Lable, stock and track movement of all deliveries.
  • Work closely with the MHNT Team leader and Project Officer to raise supply request and prepare consumption report.
  • Prepare Daily/weekly medicines as requested for the MHNTs.
  • Analyze the consumption of medicines.
  • Monitor and deliver the supplies, medicine, food, consumables and equipment for the MHNTs.
  • Regularly check the delivery of supplies and update the stock cards
  • Assess and monitor the conditions of supplies (drugs and food conditions and expiring date) on regular basis
  • Identify discripancies between deliveries and requests.
  • Check that there is always sufficient medicine and medical equipment so as to avoid stock shortage ; informe in advance if the consumption is hire than
  • Order additional stock as needed to meet the demand.
  • Ensure there’s no expired medicines, inform in advance to take the decision of the medicines with close expire date
  • Be responsible for the assessment and regular updates of the List of items (supplies and equipment) at the warehouse.
  • Follow written and verbbal instructions to locate merchandise in warehouse based on unique item number.
  • Performe routine preventative and safety checks and notify appropriate contacts of potential hazards or mechanical issues.
  • Make sure that the pharmacy is clean, well ventilated and safe ;
  • Make sure that the medicine and the medical equipment are listed in the stock card.
  • Check the coherence of the state of the stocks with the orders;
  • Establish monthly consumption report and notify before the stock out.
  • Ensuring filing and archiving of data.
  • Meet security and confidentiality needs for files concerning project activities regularly.
  • Anyother tasks assigned by the supervisor.
